Meet 8:45AM under the Safeway sign at Market and Dolores. Depart 9AM.

Description: We will be hiking from the top of the Oakland Hills at the Serpentine Prairie and then down into the woods on the lovely Golden Spike Trail, then up the west ridge via Toyon Trail, then on some of the French Trail before lunch at Redwood Creek. Then back up the west ridge via the Starflower Trail to Redwood Bowl and the Graham and Dunn trails back to the cars. This park is the largest collection of redwoods east of the bay, and is a gem. The park is dog friendly if you wish to bring one.
Bring / Wear: Bring a normal amount of water since 75 % of the hike is in the shade. This is a difficult hike since we are going up and down the west ridge twice. Pls bring sunscreen, lunch and sturdy shoes.
Rain Policy: Hike will take place rain or shine.
