Description: This hike is designed to explore obscure, scenic, mostly forested trails. We'll start on official trails, but then veer off onto "unofficial" but decent trails, usually with good footing. Some of the loop is along the Swede George, Van Wyck, and Ziesche Creeks, so if we get some early rain, it will be even more beautiful, although with a couple of stream crossings. The route is mostly moderately up and down, with only a few, short, steep sections.
Bring/Wear: Water, lunch, layers of clothing for a fall hike; poles for the downhill and stream crossings; sunscreen for the few sunny sections.

Alternative Meeting Place: Rock Spring parking lot on Mt. Tam. From highway 101 in Marin County, take the highway 1 turnoff, and continue uphill until the turnoff to Mt Tamalpais at Panoramic Highway. Continue uphill until Pantoll ranger station, and then continue uphill to the right on Pantoll Road.
